Arborist (Mark McCambridge) creates music that enters the ear and makes a home. Be it subject matter, melody, or turn of phrase, Arborist’s song writing can only really be described as masterful.

“Twisted Arrow” (2015) was the debut single that drew the attention of listeners and critics. It featured an astonishing duet with Kim Deal of The Breeders and it was a hint of what was to come.

Arborist’s first show was an opener for James Yorkston, before touring solo and performing alongside Low, Cat Power, Echo and The Bunnymen and Guy Garvey
The debut album ‘Home Burial’ (2016) and the follow-up ‘A Northern View’ (2020)  both received glowing praise from the likes of The Guardian (“instant classic” ) MOJO (“devastatingly bleak…upliftingly beautiful”) and Uncut (“A staggering debut of depth and substance”) with radio play from BBC 6music via Cerys Matthews, Cillian Murphy, Gideon Coe and Steve Lamacq who called single “Taxi”, “one of those records that makes you immediately stop what you’re doing.”

For album number three, Arborist embarked on a solo trip to Spacebomb Studios in Richmond, Virginia in March 2022. Working alongside Matthew E White (Producer) and recording with the legendary Spacebomb House Band they completed what has become ‘An Endless Sequence of Dead Zeros’, released on Kirkinriola Records in April 2023. The record is a gorgeous fever dream filled with groove and insight, and takes the Arborist sound one step further, with his home-turf-full-band delivering every ounce of colour and texture from the record in the live shows.
